We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor Open Pit(internally known asSupervisor Mine Operations Surface, Mine Services,who will report directly into the Superintendent Mine Services. The Supervisor Open Pit role is to lead a teamto safely achieve the daily budget targets and to ensure progressive, sustainable improvements within the Mining division consistent with Newmont Boddington Gold Operations business goals. This role is being offered on a 8:6:7:7 roster.
The role will see youproviding effective supervision, planning and communication to the Services Crew and to various Contractors within the open pit environment, you will assist in the planning of equipment movements across the site including but not limited to shovels, cable, pumps and dust suppression units, maintain compliance with the weekly services schedule and effective interaction and communication with the Load and Haul crews, Safety Advisors, Drill& Blast crews, Short Term Planning Engineers, Mine Maintenance Supervisors and Training Providers.
A day in the life of aSupervisor Open Pitmay include:
- Providing effective supervision, training and development to Newmont and Business Partner operational personnel within the open pit environment.
- Facilitate and lead effective pre-start meetings and shift handovers by providing clear concise and relevant information.
- Allocation of resources to safely implement and deliver the 12-hour shift plan.
- Assessing competency levels of team, maintaining a training matrix, establishing development plans and coaching and mentoring,
- Safety& Environmental Inspections and investigations, safety interactions, auditing of direct reports safety interactions and collection of data and reporting
- Support team effectiveness through managing interpersonal dynamics, leave approvals and encouraging positive and efficient communications with other teams.
- Assist in the planning of equipment movements across the site.
- Maintaining compliance with the daily and weekly production schedule and mining plans.
- Effective interaction and communication with Autonomous Control Room, Safety Advisors, Drill& Blast crews, Short Term Planning Engineers and Mine Maintenance Supervisors.
Your significant supervisory and equipment operation experience in large hard rock mining operations is essential. You will also have:
- A Frontline Management Certificate or equivalent
- A Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate
- Mine dispatch systems experience
- Experience within an Autonomous Mining Operation
