POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Supervisor is responsible for directing and providing leadership to a team of operators across Port Gregory Mining operations to deliver the production plan outcomes consistent with accepted standards across safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
Residential or relocation only - NO FIFO for this role.
GMA will be prioritising applicants who have a current right to work in Australia, and do not require GMA sponsorship of a visa.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | OPERATIONS
- Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Mining personnel to maintain and improve performance and drive a positive workplace culture that reflects the GMA Values.
- Liaise with the Production Superintendent, Technical Services team, Surveyors and other relevant technical stakeholders to ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with the production plan.
- Coordinate, assign and monitor daily activities of shift personnel to ensure optimal productivity is maintained.
- Supervise haulage contractors to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of ore.
- Manage daily KPI requirements and report on variations.
- Ensure that all products and materials are handled at required specifications and appropriate destinations, reporting all variations encountered .
- Assist with the planning and coordination of mining operations to ensure the daily plan is carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal disruption to equipment or production.
- Ensure open lines of communication between mining crew and the management team.
- Ensure Pit Standards are complied with at all times.
- Prepare and provide the management team with such information and reports as it may direct regarding operational and safety matters. Other duties as directed.
SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Certificate III in Resource Mining is desirable.
- Any nationally recognised leadership qualification is desirable.
- 3 or more years previous supervisory experience, ideally in a mining or processing environment is desirable.
- Experience and qualifications to obtain Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is highly desirable.
