The Role

Reporting to the Team Lead, Industrial Hygiene you will utilise your skills and positive work ethic to provide technical support to the occupational hygiene function at a site level.
You will apply standards and procedures and manage equipment and systems required for the ongoing maintenance of site Occupational Hygiene programs. You will ensure our systems and procedures support the operational needs of our department.
Offered as a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract, this role operates on 7 days on, 7 days off DIDO roster.
Key Tasks
- Conduct Occupational Hygiene surveys on hazardous materials/agents.
- Maintain accurate information in Cority to support the Team Lead, Industrial Hygiene in maintaining site Health Risk Assessments.
- Complete site Occupational Hygiene exposure and water monitoring to required regulatory and internal standards.
- Effectively plan and execute site exposure/water monitoring activities to meet the annual site sample plan.
- Maintain a serviceable and compliant fleet of sampling/monitoring equipment in accordance with required standards.
- Conduct and participate in training for Occupational Hygiene processes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports utilising data management systems such as Cority and ChemAlert.
- Prepare and submit all assigned internal and regulatory reporting in a timely manner, including site, regional and regulatory reporting.
- Review and process requests for new chemicals.
- Assist the team in the effective implementation of the respiratory and hearing protection programs for site.
- Participate in investigations as required.
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene, Science or Health and Safety is preferred.
- Surface Ventilation Technician qualification
- Noise Officer qualifications or ability to obtain.
- Previous experience working in a heavy industrial/mining environment.
- Awareness of applicable industry standards and legislation applicable to the role.
- Excellent report writing skills and a high attention to detail.
- Proficient use of MS Office software.
- Manual driver's licence.
