As Night Manager, you play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during night-time hours. This position is responsible for supervising the overnight staff, providing exceptional guest service, and ensuring the safety and security of the property. The Hotel Night Manager serves as the point of contact for guests and employees during non-business hours, handling various tasks and issues that may arise during the night shift.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our team during the pre-opening phase of a new hotel, that will look to be the changing face of the Central Coast.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Welcome and check-in late arriving guests with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Handle guest requests and concerns, striving to provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist guests with special requests and ensure their needs are met promptly.
- Conduct night order procedures.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Execute late night in room dining orders.
- Assist with customer reservations and check out, ensuring accurate billing and smooth departure experience.
- Oversee the performance of night shift staff across property.
- Prepare and distribute end-of-day reports.
- Manage OTA extranets (no shows, guest comments etc).
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor security cameras and perform regular security patrols of the property to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
- Respond to and resolve security issues or emergencies.
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration or Hotel Management
- 2-3 years of guest service/hotel experience with a minimum 1 year in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Must speak local language (s)
- Other languages preferred
- Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
- Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories
- A passionate team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads
- Computer savvy and particularly versed in Microsoft Excel
