In line with our commitment to these values, we are looking to expand our Sydney team by hiring Occupational Hygiene Consultants.
What we are looking for:
- A highly motivated professional with 2 to 5 years’ experience with a degree or diploma in occupational hygiene, Work Health and Safety (WHS), Environmental Science or a related scientific or engineering field
- Who is or becomes a provisional or full member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) within one year of joining the company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate investigative and narrative reports.
- Proficient in analysing and evaluating a wide range of technical data, test results, reports, and plans.
- Ability to work independently on complex projects while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.
- Adept in using MS Office, Teams, and other relevant software.
- Holds a valid Australian driver’s license; ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is a plus.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitor exposure to airborne contaminants, such as particulates, gases, vapours, fumes, and mists, as well as physical agents like noise, vibration (hand-arm and whole body).
- Conduct specialist occupational hygiene assessments including heat stress, mould, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), lighting, surface contamination, radiation, hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, ventilation systems, RPE/PPE etc.
- Provide specialist advice to clients on a range of occupational hygiene matters and reasonably practicable controls, ensuring compliance with the legislative requirements, relevant standards, and industry best practices.
- Prepare high quality reports.
- Perform qualitative hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of occupational health, hygiene, and safety programmes.
- Assist in developing and delivering occupational hygiene and occupational health and safety (OHS) training.
- Manage projects from initial request/proposal to the delivery of high quality work on time and within budget.
- Assist with business development activities, proposals, and client account management as required.
- Ad-hoc activities required to complete a specific job
