We are offering an exciting career opportunity for an Operations Assistant to maintain and build on the performance, image and service of the company by providing professional support to local trading team.
It is a fixed-term 1-year contract to cover maternity leave. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who wants to contribute to a global agri-business by supporting trading operations in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The primary focus of the role is trade contract management and execution of domestic and export transactions.
This position reports directly to the Operations and Export Manager .
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and liaise with bulk handlers, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely execution of domestic and export contracts.
Manage end-to-end shipping documentation and processes, including shipment scheduling, invoicing, cost accruals, grain movement reconciliation, miscellaneous cost matching, and settlement of purchase/sale contracts.
Maintain accurate filing and perform laytime calculations and settlements.
Oversee contract, stock, shipment, and logistics tracking and reporting.
Support the trade desk in entering, verifying, reviewing, and updating trade contracts.
Assist in stock accumulation processes to fulfill export sales commitments.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve contract execution efficiency and overall supply chain operations.
Provide operational support and backup as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; in Agriculture or a related field is preferred.
Basic understanding of the Australian Grains Industry is an advantage.
Prior experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain-related roles is beneficial.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Clear and effective communication skills – both verbal and written.
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform in a methodical and reliable manner.
