Golding is currently seeking a Operational Technology (OT) Technician to be based on site at the South Walker Creek Mining project located near Moranbah.
Reporting to the Operational Technology and Mine Control Superintendent, the successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in operational technology systems, with the ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot complex OT infrastructure to ensure reliable data flow and network performance across site operations.
The roster for this role will operate on a 7/7 day only roster. Meals and camp accommodation will be provided for this role.
Key role tasks:
- Ensure the availability, uptime, and performance of site OT systems.
- Perform installation and commissioning of OT hardware and backhaul networking infrastructure as required.
- Troubleshoot issues related to data flow, network connectivity and OT system performance from generating device through to database and presentation layer.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
- Maintain OT/IT network segregation, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of repeater stations, trailers, and RTK network.
- Ensure power sources (solar, generator, mains) are functioning and reliable for OT, including Mine Control Operator workstations and peripheral devices / systems.
- Record and maintain site-specific OT system details for access by broader Plant, Golding IT and OT teams.
- Proactively identify existing and emerging end user issues and requirements.
- Comprehend user requirements and make appropriate recommendations to your Manager for system wide improvements.
Key capability requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field are highly preferred;
- Proven experience with field-based OT hardware, communications infrastructure (including radios and solar-powered systems), and Fleet Management Systems is highly preferred;
- High level of initiative with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively;
- Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) demonstrating the ability to interact with internal customers, external stakeholders and clients.
- Demonstrated strong commercial skills;
- Demonstrated ability to solve multiple complex matters simultaneously;
- Experience in coal mining operations in Australia is preferred;
