About the opportunity
As Operations Services Manager, you will play a key role in driving consistency and efficiency across the operational support function for Processing. You will support the coordination and delivery of tactical activities within the broader program of work, ensuring transformational change initiatives are implemented effectively.
You will focus on consulting, testing, monitoring, and reporting on change programs, helping to embed best practice and optimise operational performance across the network. This role is pivotal in supporting Australia Post’s strategic objectives while enabling continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you’ll deliver with us
In this role, you will ensure operational support across Processing and Transport functions is consistent, effective, and aligned with Australia Post’s strategic objectives. You’ll coordinate tactical activities, provide expert guidance, and drive efficiency initiatives that enhance performance, quality, and customer outcomes across the network.
You will:
- Support and implement the Processing, Transport and efficiency strategy by coordinating tactical activities that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Analyse data to identify opportunities to improve customer service, quality, and cost performance.
- Partner with Facility Managers to provide troubleshooting, skills support, and guidance for efficiency programs.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to build leadership capability and strengthen operational decision-making.
- Coach, mentor, and develop your team while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to financial planning and resource optimisation to support operational efficiency and program success.
- Collaborating on national initiatives, working with sort plans for national changes/impacts and network integration initiatives
About you
You’re an organised and proactive operations professional with a strong ability to solve problems, lead change, and coordinate resources across a complex environment. You thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operation and are skilled at coaching and developing teams to achieve results while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. Your collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and knowledge of operational performance, HR, and safety policies will ensure success in supporting Australia Post’s strategic objectives.
You will bring:
- Proven experience leading change and coordinating operational activities to achieve outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams to deliver high performance.
- Collaborative approach with excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of delivery operations, operational performance measures, and cost impacts.
- Understanding of Australia Post policies, HR, safety, and internal procedures.
- Proficiency in navigating internal systems and using data to inform decisions.
