OSHC (Outside School Hour Care) are services for families, children and schools across Victoria. Suitable for children aged from five to 12 years old, we offer both before and after school care and school holiday programs.
About the opportunity?
The Y Victoria is currently seeking a permanent part-time Coordinator for our After School Care OSHC Program at St Joseph's Primary School. In this role, you will also play a key part in organising and implementing the School Holiday Program as well. During school holidays, flexibility in work hours is required, as this may lead to additional hours to ensure the successful operation of the program for the community.
This is a permanent part-time position, with 35 hours per fortnight.
The hourly rate for the position is between $34 - $41 p/hour (depending on your qualification) + 12% super.
OSHC Coordinators are responsible for:
- Overseeing the daily operations and strategic development and growth of the program;
- Working with the Regional OSHC Coordinator to identify and respond to service improvement opportunities;
- Creating a positive relationship with the school, families, local community groups and contract partners;
- Managing a team of educators who support you in operating a high quality and fun Outside of School Hours Care program

What do you need?
- You’ll need to have either completed or be working towards a Diploma or tertiary-level qualification as determined by ACECQA (see the link below)
- You’ll need to have, or be willing to obtain a First Aid in an Education & Care Setting certificate (or equivalent)
- You’ll need to have, or be willing to obtain a valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check – employee check
- You’ll need to have, or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor certificate within the first month of your employment
There are a variety of qualifications that ACECQA has approved to work within OSHC ranging from education to community services to healthcare. All Coordinators must be at a minimum, Diploma-level qualified.
