What you'll be doing
- Ensure areas are cleaned as per Infection Control policies and procedures, to stop the risk of infection to staff, patients and visitors.
- General cleaning duties include toilets, hand basins, bed screens, curtains, doors and door frames, sweeping, mopping, dusting, removal of clinical waste, restock linen and toiletries.
- Assist Nursing staff with repositioning and lifting of patients and transportation patients to various departments and locations as directed and attend to requests for pathology x-ray and prescriptions.
- Service and distribution of patient meals, water jugs and menus including the setting up of the meal trays for the patients and ensure patients receive their morning, afternoon teas and supper.

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of cleaning duties according to infection control guidelines
- Ability and commitment to maintain strict confidentiality
- Demonstrate knowledge of Manual Handling guidelines and ability to work within these guidelines
- Understanding of WHS and EEO principles
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards where applicable
