Guided by our Values , your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the City Planning and Assessment Group by applying town planning knowledge to meet service standards.

Providing professional planning and land use advice under senior supervision to ensure quality and consistency.

Contributing to a positive team environment and helping improve service delivery and customer relationships.

Researching emerging trends and practices in development assessment to support continuous improvement.

Using initiative, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to complete tasks effectively under guidance.

What we're looking for:
We’re looking for a planning graduate who is outcome-focused, detail-oriented, and a strong team player. You’ll bring a solid understanding of current and emerging town planning principles, including the Queensland legislative environment - particularly the Sustainable Planning Act. You’ll have a knack for building positive relationships with customers, and be confident preparing clear, professional reports and correspondence. Strong verbal communication, time management, and problem-solving skills will help you succeed in this fast-paced, team-based environment, where you’ll contribute to the assessment and processing of low to moderately complex development applications.

Eligibility

You'll have a Bachelor Degree in Regional and Town Planning (or equivalent post graduate qualification) or Diploma of Town Planning or similar.
Successful applicants will be asked to consent to a police check. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits.
To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
