We have an amazing opportunity for a Process Safety Lead to join our Supply Chain business and our national network of fuel storage terminals.
This is role can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney with interstate travel required across the Eastern seaboard States (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Townsville) and some storage facilities in Tasmania, SA and WA.
Job Description
In this role you will develop site risk management improvements supporting site operations, maintenance and projects, to improve overall results for Viva Energy Australia in terms of process safety, reliability and cost.
- Responsible for currency and effectiveness of Safety Case requirements. Participate in the auditing and monitoring framework, incorporate feedback from incident analysis, coordinate and participate in Safety Case revisions.
- Where required, assist in conducting incident investigation and analysis to identify general failure types, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Liaising with external authorities on safety and risk management issues.
- Where required, lead or participate in HAZID activity on establish plants.
- Support Process Safety qualitative and quantitative risk assessment and advise Operations for areas such as, portable building location and occupancy.
- Support management of the Major Hazard Facility license renewal process inclusive of SFARP/ ALARP determination and demonstration.
- Identify and development opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement related to process safety management systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Ideally tertiary qualified Engineering discipline and/or Occupational Health and Safety qualifications with Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry experience.
- Experience in process safety or comparable operational experience.
- Experience in petrochemical industry operations.
- Knowledge of appropriate local regulatory standards and Codes of Practice and Experience of MHF requirements is an advantage.
- Experienced in the use of HSSE risk assessment techniques, such as, Bowtie, LOPA and QRA accident investigation and auditing.
- Excellent communication skills and service provision driven.
- Ability to build productive relationships with demonstrated success engaging with and influencing both internal and external stakeholders, including industry groups and regulators.
- Can influence and inform management and operations teams about process safety issues, to enable timely decisions and support.
- Ability to communicate technical process safety issues to target groups.
