Talia Farms is located at 1251 Stanitzki Road, Lyrup 5343, South Australia, where we grow and produce table grapes for sale to both domestic and export markets.
In order to meet operational demands, we are seeking a suitable candidate to work full-time as a Production Horticulturist
About the role
Position : Production Horticulturist
Salary : $69,000 - $71,000 plus Superannuation
Tasks and Duties:
- Coordinate crop harvesting
- Liaise with the Production Horticulturist Supervisor and Farm Manager
- Train and monitor labour hire and casual workers to ensure harvest and non-harvest activities are carried out according to the required quality standards
· Repair and maintain irrigation systems and assist with irrigation needs
- Prepare work programs and timetables for the farm tasks
· Observe vines for pests and diseases and report to the supervisor
- Operate tractors, tractor-drawn implements, and chemical application equipment
Ideal candidates for the above positions must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A proven record of skills and knowledge in the agriculture/horticulture industry
- Have at least Certificate III or Certificate IV in Agriculture/Horticulture or have relevant experience as a Production Horticulturist
- Have at least two years of experience in the relevant role
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Sound communication skills. Fluency in Mandarin is advantageous
