Our team in Sydney designs and manufactures switches that enable today’s fiber optic networks around the world to carry the internet, video and mobile phone communications.
The Production technician's role is to contribute to the manufacturing team in the assembly of precision optical and mechanical components used to build complex modules used in communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean optical and mechanical parts for optical manufacture.
- Assembly of optical, mechanical and electronic systems.
- Operate optical test equipment.
- Data entry of materials use and work orders into the ERP system.
- Operate equipment and perform tasks efficiently so as to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean work environment and assist in maintaining the level of cleanliness.
- Perform duties as requested by management.

- Work cooperatively in a team environment with demanding goals to meet output targets.
- The ability and willingness to rapidly learn new complex assembly processes.
- Flexible to be assigned to work on a range of processes dependant on production needs.
- The ability to follow written work instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and patience.
- The ability for clear written and spoken communication
Desirables
- Experience in the manufacture of products under a defined quality system.
- 3 to 4 years experience as an operator in a high tech manufacturing organisation operating under ISO standards.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
- Good problem solving skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
