Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for ensuring all site fabrication work is completed to company quality standards and specifications, and provide quality assurance as required for manufactured parts and equipment being supplied to Murrin Murrin Operations.

The Role

You will be responsible for:
Maintain accurate and auditable quality records in compliance with internal procedures and statutory requirements in particular Major Hazard Facility and Classified Plant legislation
Review work packs for defined scopes and prepare quality plans and ITPs
See that inspections and tests are completed and witnessed in line with ITP requirements
Conduct offsite audits, when required
Document inspection findings, generate comprehensive reports, and maintain accurate records of inspections, and associated documentations
Preform and review Welder and Qualification Test
Liaise with vendors and purchasing department to ensure all quality requirements of purchase orders and contracts are met
Compile and archive work packs and associated quality records for completed works
Raise NCRs and follow investigations to see that appropriate corrective actions are implemented to rectify or prevent recurrence
Welding consumables correctly stored, clearly identified, with the relevant test certificates
Maintain the inspection and test equipment register, and arrange or perform equipment calibration and maintain applicable calibration records
Review vendor and subcontractor ITPs, MDRs and perform quality audits
This role would suit an experienced Fabrication Tradesman or Welding Inspector with a sound knowledge of ISO9001 Certifications. You will also have:
Engineering trade or technical qualifications including a Welding Inspection Certificate; Minimum CWSIP 3.1 welding inspections
Previous experience in a similar Welding Inspection position
A Manual drivers licence
A proven track record in building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and onsite staff members
Sound knowledge of Australian and international standards and codes
Good computer skills with the ability to use maintenance management systems, word processing, presentation and spread sheet applications
An ability to clearly communicate technical instructions and information
Have a thorough understanding of quality standards and their application to plant maintenance in a continuous process environment
Have an ability to train others and pass on knowledge
