Position overview
The Quality Lead, Quality and Regulatory Practice (QRP) is responsible for leadership, development, and expansion of the VBA Quality Management System (QMS). This includes coordination of process integrity/competence, quality assurance/monitoring, internal quality audit, and knowledge / management capabilities. The Lead is responsible for effective analysis and management of key projects within Quality and Regulatory Practice, Knowledge / Records Management, and Operations teams. This includes any initiative within scope of the QMS under direction from SAR leadership.
What we are looking for:
- Experience working within legislative and regulatory regimes, applying principles of procedural fairness and quality measures to decision making operations within a government, compliance or law enforcement setting.
- Demonstrated formal project management and business analysis skills.
- Exceptional conceptual, analytical and systematic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy, and business need.
- Strong verbal communication skills including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate information to a range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to prepare a range of complex materials (including business rules, matrices, reports, briefings, policies, strategic frameworks and plans) in a clear and concise manner.

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) is the primary regulator of Victoria's building and plumbing industries, ensuring compliance with relevant laws that protect the Victorian community and promote confidence in the built environment. The VBA manages practitioner registration, monitors industry standards, and enforces compliance through inspections, investigations, and audits. It also supports industry professionals by providing guidance, education, and resources to uphold safety, durability, and sustainability in building and plumbing work.
