We have a fantastic opportunity for and Racing & Media Executive to join our Racing Department on a full-time basis, located at Caulfield Racecourse.
The Racing & Media Executive The Racing & Media Executive plays a critical role in amplifying the Club’s racing product and profile across both industry and public platforms.

What will your responsibilities be?
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of MRC race programming including analysis of black type races.
- Oversee contractor and supplier performance relating to tracks and facilities to ensure race day standards are consistently met.
- Support the General Manager – Racing in delivering reports, presentations, submissions or briefings to the Executive Team, CEO and external stakeholders as required.
- Provide on-the-ground logistical support on race days and during key events.
- Lead the governance and oversight of facilities management to ensure operational readiness and exceptional stakeholder experience.
- Ensure all relevant safety policies necessary to equine welfare and racing rules are understood and followed by staff and stakeholders.
- Support the planning and delivery of race meetings, trial meetings, jump outs, and special event days (e.g. feature meetings, industry events).
- Serve as a media liaison on race days and at Club events, ensuring timely and accurate information is shared.
- Contribute to initiatives designed to increase on-course wagering, including storytelling, talent-focused content, and digital enhancements tied to real-time race engagement.
- Promote racing to commercial partners including race day behind the scenes tours
- Provide regular updates and reports to the General Manager on racing performance and media activity.
- Monitor wagering trends and support strategic opportunities to enhance engagement across punter segments.
- Analysis and review of racetrack performance including industry feedback.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Media, Sport Management, Business, Marketing, Commerce, or Data Analytics (or a related discipline).
- Previous experience in a racing club, sporting organisation, or live events environment.
- Understanding of wagering drivers and consumer engagement strategies within the racing industry.
Skills & Experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and interpret complex spreadsheets, use formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- In-depth understanding of thoroughbred racing operations, protocols, and industry practices.
- Proven experience in media, journalism, public relations, or communications—ideally within the racing, sport, or entertainment sectors.
- Proficient in using web-based applications and digital platforms for content management, reporting, and operational coordination.
- Capability in financial management, including forecasting, budget tracking, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with enterprise video platforms (e.g. Brightcove) for live streaming, video hosting, and data reporting.
- Working knowledge of Tipper or other racing-specific tools used for form guides, race data, and operational content delivery.
