About the Role
The Regional Work, Health and Safety Officer - Eurobodalla & ACT (Full time) is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Work Health and Safety systems, processes, policy, legislation, frameworks and initiatives at an Aged Care Centre level.

This role is also responsible for:
Provide
  • advice and support to Management, central WHS and operational teams to ensure compliance with current legislation and achieve safety targets (KPIs)
  • Coordinate
  • investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe work practices
  • Coordinate and complete
  • risk assessments
  • Deliver safety engagements, Toolbox Talks and other safety and wellbeing initiatives
  • Ensure
  • hazards identified, reported and corrective actions are completed
  • Coordinate and support the Regional WHS Committee by facilitating meetings, fostering participation and regular communication with Committee members Undertake the function of the
  • RTW Coordinator and monitor injured workers through the RTW process with support of the central Injury Management team
  • Complete
  • monthly reports with insights and analysis
  • Keep
  • up to date with changes in Work Health and Safety legislation

To Be Successful You Will Have
  • Previous demonstrated hands on experience in a similar role (within the Aged Care Industry highly regarded)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety
  • Be an accredited
  • Return to Work Coordinator
  • Current Class C Driver’s License with an ability to travel to IRT operating regions as required (NSW, ACT
  • )
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures and ensure they are operating within the work environmen

  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to consistently meet deadline

  • High level communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to maintain confidential information in a professional and discrete manne
