About the area
The UWA School of Engineering is renowned for its award-winning researchers, teachers and facilities. It is a multidisciplinary school offering education and research in a number of engineering disciplines. This includes civil, environmental, mining, chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering. Successful applicants will work in the large Fluid Science and Resources (FSR) Group (https://www.fsr.ecm.uwa.edu.au/), which conducts research across the energy industry including oil, natural gas, and hydrogen. The relevant theme to these positions is natural gas processing and separations, with technical expertise in clathrate hydrates and high-pressure gas expansion.
About the opportunity
- Conduct and coordinate experimental and modelling research on gas hydrates and flow assurance, primarily for industry-funded projects, including preparing reports and contributing to academic publications.
- Manage high-pressure research equipment and supervise industry-funded research projects.
- Publish scholarly papers, present findings at industry and academic forums, and contribute to student supervision.
About you
- A PhD in a relevant field.
- Relevant research experience.
- Track record of research publication relative to opportunity.
- Research experience with natural gas processing and mixture separations is highly desirable.
