Join South Australia’s leading cancer research institute as a Research & Training Manager

The Research and Training Manager, in close partnership with Professor Lisa Butler, is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Graduate Program at SAiGENCI.

This involves ensuring comprehensive research training and professional development opportunities for students, contributing to performance monitoring, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance SAiGENCI’s position as a leader in training the next generation of cancer researchers.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a research-intensive environment managing research activities and higher degree by research students.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance, effectively driving key objectives to completion within established timeframes.
  • Experience in all aspects of project management including project planning, executing plans, monitoring and reporting, achieving milestones and managing relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, budgets, presentations, publications, grant and ethics applications.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to work collegially as part of an interdisciplinary team and with a wide range of stakeholder groups, paired with sound conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters.
  • Experience organising professional events, seminars, and academic development programs.
