We’re looking for dynamic individuals to be the front-line face of Council's waste services - supporting everything from garbage and recycling collections to green waste, bin repairs, and more. You'll engage daily with customers, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure our community stays clean and sustainable.
As part of our team, you'll also play a key role in operating the Weighbridge and Reuse Shop at our waste facility. If you're ready to make a real impact while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, this could be the perfect fit!
- Two (2) permanent, part-time positions available.
- Position 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week, 10.00am to 3.00pm, 20 hours per week.
- Position 2: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday each week, 10.00am to 3.00pm, 15 hours per week.
- Remuneration package of $2,412.82 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,895.38 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%), noting pay rates are pro-rated based on part time hours of work.
- Penalty rates applicable for hours worked on weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Resource Recovery Support Officer, you will be responsible to:
- Undertake administrative duties including the management of account holder information and general record keeping; responding to customer requests; data entry; manage and monitor the Integrated Waste Tracking System; asbestos management paperwork and coordination; purchasing requisitions; preparation of report information for EPA, management and other stakeholders; preparation of reports through the use of the weighbridge software; and provide data and reports to management as required.
- Undertake customer service duties associated with the weighbridge and Reuse Shop, when and as required as part of a roster.
- Manage and resolve day-to-day service issues, customer feedback, complaints and compliments pertaining to the delivery of waste services, including phone calls and email correspondence, recording correspondence and documentation relevant to these matters in Council’s corporate systems.
- Proactively engage with Council's Customer Service Team to ensure accurate waste service information is consistently provided to customers.
- Support the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) Leadership Team in the provision of general administration activities as required including production of task and services reports, and data entry for reporting.
- Assist in the administration and management of contracts relevant to the collection of waste throughout the LGA. e.g. Kerbside collection services (recycling, FOGO and General Waste).
- Assist with organisation of freight pickups for cardboard, oil, polystyrene, and monitor daily staff and traffic movements.
Essential Requirements of the Position:
As the successful applicant, you will bring a strong mix of qualifications, skills and experience, including:
- Business administration qualifications and/or experience relevant to the role.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Training Card.
- Proven experience in service delivery administration with demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, and to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
