Located in Peak Hill, NSW, the store provides a broad range of grocery items, fresh produce, household goods, and convenience products, serving the local community with exceptional service and value.
Position Summary
The Retail/Store Manager will oversee all aspects of store operations to ensure the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. This includes managing staff, stock, sales, customer service, compliance, and presentation standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong organisational skills and proven retail experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the grocery store, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
- Supervise and manage store staff, including rostering, training, and performance monitoring.
- Plan product range and stock levels based on seasonal demand and customer preferences.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure timely and cost-effective ordering.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and oversee regular stocktakes and wastage control.
- Ensure merchandising, pricing, promotional displays, and store presentation meet company and supplier standards.
- Deliver high levels of customer service and resolve customer inquiries or complaints professionally.
- Monitor and analyse sales data, prepare daily cash reports, and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage cash handling procedures, EFTPOS transactions, and banking following store policy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS, food safety, and retail laws and regulations.
- Report regularly to the business owner on store performance and operational needs.
Skills and Experience Required
- At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory or management role in a small to medium-sized retail or grocery environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Proficiency in using POS systems, inventory software, and scheduling tools
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, sales analysis, and cost control
- Diploma in Retail Management or Business Management (preferred, not essential)
- Australian Citizen / Permanent resident preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
