About the position
The Risk, Audit and Insurance (RAI) team is responsible for overseeing risk management, internal audit and insurance across La Trobe University.
The Risk, Audit and Insurance Advisor will prioritise customer engagement by providing proactive and timely professional advice to facilitate informed decision-making.
The position involves offering guidance on all aspects of risk management, internal audit and insurance matters. A key objective is to assist business unit leaders to manage risks according to the University’s Risk Management Framework, ensuring both strategic and operational priorities are upheld across the University.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Law with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience working within the risk and internal audit functions of large organisations and possessing a strong understanding of insurance principles (and contractual indemnities) – all relevant to the role duties outlined in the Position Description.
- Demonstrated experience in business continuity management is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills, able to work under pressure managing multiple tasks or projects with competing deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships at all levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, that enable clear and articulate presentation of complex information in a meaningful and usable format (including experience in drafting reports).
