We are looking for a Rostering Officer to join our team at UnitingSA and play a pivotal role in ensuring our residents receive the care and attention they deserve.
As a Rostering Officer, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the rosters for our aged care staff, ensuring shifts are filled in line with staff contracts while also supporting operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You’ll work closely with a supportive team but will also have the autonomy to manage your own responsibilities and make informed decisions day to day.

What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate Rosters: Set rosters for the facility based on employment contracts, ensuring hours are met and staff are scheduled appropriately.
- Manage Absences: Handle leave requests and absenteeism, filling shifts as needed using internal systems and external agency support.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and external parties, including GP/Primary Health Practitioners and Acute Health Services.
- Administrative Support: Assist with office duties, including mail, filing, and staff training record management.
- Work in a Team: Collaborate with the Residential Operations Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure optimal staffing and service delivery.
What You Need:
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service and office administration is ideal. Experience within residential aged care or a similar sector is highly regarded.
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Strong communication and multi-tasking skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and rostering software (desirable).
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and organisational ability, especially in managing rosters and staff schedules.
- Autonomy & Teamwork: The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
- Eagerness to Learn: A willingness to absorb detailed information, adapt to evolving systems, and continuously improve.
- Compliance: A current DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check is essential.
