Primary objective
Responsible for supporting the Service Development and Quality Team with the implementation of quality assurance programs to meet
recognised standards and to coordinate clinical incident management and reporting for the NT Forensic Disability Unit and Top End
Forensic Mental Health Service.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Ensure the clinical incident and patient management systems are optimally utilised by staff, coordinates the staff profile and alert
functions, and ensures data integrity and reporting.
2. Support Managers to ensure timely investigations in relation to incidents, and complaints monitoring trends and escalate appropriately.
3. Coordinate review of applicable accrediting body for Forensic Disability Service and support the team in reviewing and ensuring
compliance of the accrediting body requirements.
4. Write and disseminate documents, audits, and reports to monitor and improve practice, ensuring accreditation readiness.
5. Assist in coordinating the implementation of recommendations received from surveys applicable to TEMSHAOD.
6. Provide safety and quality project and administration support to the SDQ teams as required.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge and understanding of safety and quality management principles and systems in the government setting.
2. Demonstrated experience with current ICT practices and Microsoft Office products and an ability to learn systems and processes.
3. Demonstrated sound conceptual and analytical skills and ability to research and prepare reports and plans.
4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with
staff at all levels.
5. Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage, plan and prioritise project activity with minimal
direction, to meet deadlines.
6. Knowledge of the NT Health Clinical Incident Reporting System and understanding of clinical incident reporting applications
7. Current NT driving licence and a willingness to undertake regional travel in the NT as required from time to time.
Desirable
1. Evidence of training/experience in safety and quality/ project management or a related field in a health service environment
