Are you a driven Civil Structural Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact on the future of energy in Western Australia? Join our Asset Performance team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our network infrastructure.
In this role, you will apply your civil and structural engineering expertise to support the management of in-service transmission lines assets. You will also lead technical reviews and contribute strategic input into the renewal and ongoing upkeep of critical buildings and facility infrastructure across our operational sites.
Your Role in Action
- Technical Expertise: Perform condition and structural integrity assessments across Transmission Lines assets (i.e., Towers, wood poles) as well as buildings, grounds, and fencing for transmission Substations. Identify optimal solutions through investigation, strategic innovation and condition monitoring (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, LIDAR).
- Performance: Define inspection methodologies, develop and oversee scopes of work for maintenance and asset replacement programs (both OPEX and CAPEX). Ensure corrective works are actioned within timeframes aligned to asset risk.
- Data-Driven Insights: Analyse asset failure trend and asset performance data to inform decision-making and reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including project management, facilities, strategy and engineering and design teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Work together with key stakeholders to review and improve the transmission lines, transmission cables and facility asset strategies as well as the implementation and delivery of prioritised implementation plans.
- Leadership: Lead the development and embedding of processes to support maintenance programs. Drive innovation and continuous improvement across structural engineering practices.
- Compliance: Promote a shared understanding of structural integrity standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., asbestos, building regulations). Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices through active professional networking
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree qualified in engineering within the relevant civil and structural discipline
- Eligible for chartered membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
- At least 10+ years extensive and relevant experience and knowledge in a civil and/or structural engineering role
- Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of, and technical experience and leadership in a civil and/or structural related field
- Demonstrable and extensive knowledge of civil/structural construction and fabrication practices relevant to, preferably, substation assets across both distribution and transmission assets and transmission lines assets
- Demonstrable and extensive knowledge of civil/structural practices and regulations
- Good communication skills and customer focus with the ability to influence outcomes and or effect change when required
