It’s an exciting time to join ING, Australia’s most recommended bank, for the 3rd year running and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager – Transaction Monitoring Design & Operations within the Compliance team.
In this role you will support the Head of Financial Crime Compliance in setting and implementing the vision, strategy, direction and leadership for the local FCC team, consistent with the vision and strategy for ING Group as set by FCC centrally. Together with the FCC team, you share a collective responsibility identifying, managing and monitoring the Financial Crime risks.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and enhancement of the transaction monitoring framework for ING Australia in line with the internal FCC policies and procedures and external laws and regulations. In conjunction with the Head of Financial Crime Compliance you advise on risk appetite setting and translation thereof in transaction monitoring related processes.
You will also manage the FCC AML Operations team and mentor more junior members of the team in regarding their duties, not only from a local bank wide perspective but also towards the internal FCC community cross the bank. You will lead multiple team leaders across different FCC disciplines. You will be a leader of leaders with responsibility for all performance.

What you’ll do
- You will develop and implement the transaction monitoring framework for ING Australia ensuring compliance with applicable laws, industry standards and internal policies.
- You will establish and manage a financial crime intelligence unit.
- You will participate in other ad hoc project as required.
- Take a proactive stance in promoting and maintaining an effective and sustainable compliance culture throughout the organisation
- You will manage the line 2 FCC AML Operations Team
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years’ experience in Financial Crime Compliance within one or more banking segments (retail, wholesale, online, private banking).
- You have a university degree or equivalent
- Local and/ or international compliance accreditation. Completed industry wide recognized AML/ Sanctions training (ACAMS/ Wolfsberg)
- You are recognised as a thought leader (or rising star) in the FCC domain;
- Experience in an investigative discipline is an advantage (auditing, forensic, security).
- Experience in working with/ overseeing shared services centres/ offshoring of activities in FCC domain is an advantage
