What’s the role?
The Senior Manager will be a strategic compliance partner for Consumer Lending in support of the Mortgages and Consumer Finance lines of business within the Consumer Division, bringing clarity to complexity and helping us stay one step ahead of regulatory change.
You will provide high-quality, timely advice across Consumer Lending, supporting regulatory and business change initiatives. You’ll offer oversight and challenge through data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities include assessing incidents with potential medium to high impacts, advising on breaches and remediation, and helping shape an agile compliance framework that aligns with commercial goals. Additionally, you will play a vital role in embedding a forward-thinking compliance culture that drives innovation, protects customers, and strengthens our risk foundations.
What do I need?
- Substantial experience in second line compliance/risk oversight and advisory roles within financial services and /or legal or similar industries
- A strategic mindset with practical execution – You can see the big picture, connect the dots across risk, regulation, and business strategy, and translate that into clear, actionable advice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory environments and experience in managing statutory obligations and implications for retail lending
- Experience and understanding of retail lending products (specifically mortgages, credit cards and/or personal loans), supported by experience and understanding of agile projects, the competitive environment, and developments in the retail lending industry.
- Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships at a senior level both internally and externally
