We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer (Aboriginal Identified) to drive inclusive, culturally informed projects that enhance Aboriginal participation in sport and active recreation across NSW.


About the role

The Senior Project Officer – Aboriginal Outcomes leads high-impact projects that strengthen the inclusion and participation of Aboriginal communities in sport and active recreation across NSW. Working in close partnership with communities, stakeholders and internal teams, the role is responsible for designing and delivering culturally informed initiatives that align with the Office of Sport 2024 -2028 Strategic Priorities and meet our Reconciliation Action Plan commitments. 

The role also contributes to shaping inclusive policies, fostering cultural competence across the agency and building strong stakeholder relationships. With the responsibility of managing complex projects from end to end and guiding a dedicated team, the position is key to achieving meaningful and lasting outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will bring to the role:

This is an identified position and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal Culture and Aboriginal community governance and structures.

Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and accepted in the community as such.

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment. You will also need to arrange a Working with Children Check, at your own expense.
