We are seeking a friendly and reliable Casual Deli Assistant to join our team. As a Deli Assistant, you’ll play a key role in providing excellent customer service and preparing high-quality fresh food products. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, values cleanliness and food safety, and is available to work weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service at the deli counter
- Prepare and serve sliced meats, cheeses, and other deli products
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist in the preparation of sandwiches, platters, and ready-to-eat meals
- Operate deli equipment safely (slicers, scales, etc.)
- Rotate stock, check for expiry dates, and ensure product freshness
- Follow opening and closing procedures for the deli department
- Work cooperatively with other team members to meet store standards and goal
Requirements:
- Weekend availability is essential
- Previous deli, food prep, or retail experience preferred but not required – training provided
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong work ethic with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team and follow direction
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (or willingness to learn)

Pay: $28.00 – $31.00 per hour
