We are on the lookout for dynamic, self-motivated Shotfirers to join our growing Platinum family, we have permanent fulltime positions available within the Isaac region.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, these positions will be offered on a 7:7 even time roster with flexible travel arrangements.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading blasting operations with precision and efficiency
- Guiding and supporting the blast crew to enhance their performance and develop their skills
- Overseeing the maintenance and safety of all blasting equipment
- Maintaining accurate records of blasting activities and inventory
- Proactively solving technical and operational issues during blasting activities
- Prioritising safety protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
You will have:
- Previous experience as a Shotfirer in gold mining or quarry operations
- Knowledge of explosives, blasting techniques and safety procedures
- Relevant certifications, licences and clearances required to carry out the duties of the role
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks inclusive of medicals and national background checks
