We are seeking an experienced vocal teachers to start with students in Term 3 2025 with students to go.
The House of Voice is situated in the South Eastern Suburbs and close to all public transport and freeways (20-30 mins from CBD).
We are looking for teachers who are committed and can develop the students to become the best musicians possible across all ages, levels, styles, and backgrounds.
We have a warm and friendly team who collaborate in a great modern environment. There will be no admin required in your role it is totally related to training the students only and we take care of all scheduling and student/parent needs outside of learning.
Qualifications and training are must-have requirements:
- Bachelor of Music completedApplicants who graduated from either Melbourne University/VCA/Monash or WAAPA Musical Theatre Program (in Voice) will be highly regarded. Applicants from other University degrees and overseas are encouraged to also apply but must have anatomy/scientific based training
- Development in anatomy-based vocal methodologies. A teaching qualification is beneficial in your application but not a requirement, however, experience is.
- Experience teaching individual and group classes, as well as zoom online classes advantageous
- A Working with Children Certificate.Key skills and attributes:

- Keeps updated with the latest repertoire in all styles and has the ability to select the appropriate pieces in all styles/genres
- The ability to relate, teach and communicate with a large spectrum of ages at all levels from beginner to intermediate
- You must be able to teach music theory, aural, and basic notation
- You must have the ability to teach performance skills for auditions, AMEB, competitions, gigs, and a range of HOV performances throughout the year
- You have the ability to teach the fundamentals of each individual style within Voice: Pop, Rock, Indie, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Classical. It is also expected that you know what techniques are required for each style. If you are classically trained with limited contemporary, we do offer mentorship programs for CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music) should you be the right candidate.
- Some knowledge in either or all music software: Garage band, Ableton and Sibelius would be a bonus (although not essential)
- At times you will be called on to assist with ensembles and a half and yearly performances.Please apply if you have the necessary qualifications, skills, and attributes. Ideally: Monday to Thursday availability with the ability to work one to three full days. We may choose one teacher or a few.
