Position summary
Join our dynamic team as a Site Coordinator - NPI, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating non-process infrastructure projects within the mining sector. You'll work on a 2:1 roster with 11-hour paid days, ensuring seamless operations across workshops, camps, and laydown areas. Your expertise in contractor management and bulk earthworks will be crucial as you collaborate with the NPI Superintendent, Area Manager, and Construction Manager. With the flexibility of two charter flight options, you'll have the opportunity to leverage your experience in NPI systems and processes, ideally within Rio Tinto's framework, although this is not mandatory. If you possess strong organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to change, this 12-month contract could be your next career milestone in the mining industry.

About the role
- Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of workshops, camps, and laydown areas to ensure efficient project execution.
- Manage contractor relationships and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the NPI Superintendent, Area Manager NPI, and Construction Manager to align project goals and objectives.
- Utilize your bulk earthworks background to contribute to the planning and execution of construction activities.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among the team of NPI Coordinators to optimize project outcomes.
- Implement and manage NPI systems and processes, leveraging experience with Rio Tinto systems where applicable.
- Monitor project progress and report on key performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Adapt to changing project requirements and provide solutions to emerging challenges.
About you
- Extensive experience in managing workshops, camps, and laydown areas within the mining industry.
- Solid background in bulk earthworks, providing a strong foundation for site coordination tasks.
- Proven expertise in contractor management, ensuring efficient and effective project execution.
- Familiarity with NPI systems and processes, particularly within the context of mining operations.
- Proficiency in managing and coordinating multiple NPI projects simultaneously.
- Experience working within the mining industry, with a preference for familiarity with Rio Tinto systems.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and team members.
- Strong organisational skills to manage complex projects and schedules.
- Problem-solving capabilities to address and resolve challenges promptly.
- Adaptability to change, ensuring smooth transitions and adjustments in dynamic environments.
