- Salary - Band 3 - $63,329 to $67,440
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of older adults? Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and flexible Social Connections Officer to join our Community Life team.
As a Social Connections Officer, you will support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred activity programs for frail aged clients and people living with a disability. Working collaboratively within a dynamic team, you’ll help create engaging group experiences that support independence, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating daily group programs
- Support clients to participate in meaningful activities while promoting dignity and independence
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with cleaning and set up of activity areas
- Monitor and respond to client needs and escalate concerns when appropriate
- Work flexibly and independently when required, including in emergency situations
- Support and guide volunteers or students in the absence of the Team Leader
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, adaptable, and community-minded
- Enjoys working in a team and can work autonomously when needed
- Has a sound understanding of working with diverse communities, including CALD backgrounds
- Can demonstrate empathy, patience, and a commitment to person-centred care
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience in aged care, disability services, community programs, or similar
