THE OPPORTUNITY:
- We are currently looking for a Steel Reinforcing Fitter to join the team located in Lansvale
- You will collaborate closely with operators and process engineers to ensure equipment and production machinery issues are resolved efficiently and promptly.
- As a strong team player, you will actively support operations beyond core responsibilities and contribute to fostering a high-performing team culture
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties:
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment to ensure smooth operations and alignment with the factory production schedule.
- Document completed works
- Have strong technical and diagnostic abilities to effectively identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
- Perform machinery servicing, including work in confined spaces, to proactively identify and address potential issues before they arise.
- Participate in repair and maintenance of all site plant and equipment. (Welding duties required)
- Maintain site machinery to ensure safety of personnel & equipment
- · Inspect, test, and repair mechanical systems and components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, gearboxes, heat exchangers, bearings, pressure vessels, rollers, conveyors, and pulleys.
- Lead the execution of smaller projects, ensuring alignment with scope and user requirements.
- Demonstrate and actively promote safe work practices in all tasks and environments.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
- 3-5 years previous experience in an industrial steel manufacturing environment
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and heat exchangers experience
- Experience with bearings, pressure vessels, roller sand conveyors
- Welding experience
- Fabrication experience
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance processes
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to maintain a hands-on approach when required
- Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of WH&S requirements within a production environment.
Advantageous:
- Forklift license
- Confined space license advantageous
- Electrical disconnect/reconnect advantageous
- Elevated work platform (EWP) license
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $34.83 – $67.72 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 48 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
