Love kids & love learning? Want to share your passion and STEM knowledge? We are looking for enthusiastic educators to join our team of STEM educators working to deliver the Young Engineers STEM program to primary schools in Perth Metro.
The Young Engineers After-school Club is our focus for most of the year so prospective educators should be available for a two-hour period between 2:30pm – 5pm on weekdays. This is a casual position and could be 1 to 5 days a week. If you are passionate about spending time with children and you are looking for a fun and rewarding casual job, this may be the job for you.
Educator/Facilitator (Primary)
To be successful in this role, you must be a confident speaker, be able to engage with primary school-aged students and be passionate about inspiring kids. Background in STEM would be an advantage but not necessary. Your proactive attitude, willingness to learn and creative problem-solving skills will be your most important assets. As we run programs in multiple schools, you must have reliable transportation, be on time and have an excellent work ethic. You must have or be able to obtain a Working With Children check.
The successful applicants (s) will have the following attributes:
- Passionate about inspiring children to be their best
- Good visual-spatial skills and enjoys Lego building
- Confident public speaker (eg, debate team experience)
- Organised, punctual, dependable and reliable
- Extremely detail-oriented and diligent personality
- Willingness to follow procedures diligently
- Willingness to perform manual tasks including setting up the venue, carrying the kits and pack up after
- A Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)
- Valid driver’s license & own car
- Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
- Prefer but not necessary: Degree/Diploma or studying towards one in Science, Engineering, ICT, Education, Education Assistance or Child Care
- Long term commitment preferred (min. 6 months)
