About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for two Strategy and Planning Specialists to join our Strategy & Transformation department!
Knox has recently developed a Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan, Organisation Strategy and Service Plans. The Strategy and Planning Specialist roles will lead the development and implementation of these key documents and the Annual Planning Cycle which includes the key planning, budget and reporting actions required each year. You will coordinate and facilitate community engagement and a variety of strategic planning sessions with subject matter experts across the organisation.
Working in the Strategy and Business Intelligence team, you will also lead the strategic direction of Council to ensure alignment between the Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan and the organisation’s other key strategic documents. You will ensure the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of strategic frameworks and plans, engaging stakeholders across the organisation and community to foster shared ownership and measurable outcomes.
These are full-time permanent roles based at our Civic Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
These are Band 7 classified roles, remuneration will be $110,732.77 - $124,189.64 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Knowledge and experience in strategic planning and reporting; and in organisation measurement and evaluation.
- Ability to develop conceptual frameworks for strategic planning and reporting; and organisation measurement and evaluation; and proven experience in the translation and implementation of those into process, operational policy, tools and systems.
- Demonstrated facilitation skills with experience in training and coaching others to adopt new processes and tools.
- Strong understanding/knowledge, skills and proficiency in cross-organisational project management.
- High level of proficiency in writing of plans and reports.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and engage effectively with a wide range of people, ability to determine stakeholder issues and explain complex issues and concepts.
- Strong and demonstrated commitment to building relationships and working on a collaborative basis with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A good understanding of and the ability to work within a political environment
- Strong team player with a high level of emotional intelligence, critical self-awareness, the capacity to reflect and learn and the ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Personal values and behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council.
