Job Description
We are excited to announce that Acciona has been named the preferred contractor to deliver a major wharf infrastructure project at Port Hedland for Pilbara Ports Authority. This marks the first stage in the development of the
Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility and Logistics Hub
(LCGF), a transformative multi-user facility designed to:- Enable the export of critical minerals.
- Support the import of renewable energy infrastructure.
- Facilitate the import/export of general cargo.
- Accommodate the import of bulk liquids such as fuel and chemicals.
To help us deliver this project, we are looking for a seasoned Civil Supervisor with extensive earthworks experience to join our team.
Reporting directly to the Project Superintendent, your primary focus will be to coordinate the onsite construction activities for our civils packages, ensuring our sub-contract teams are operating and performing in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily pre-starts, program and handover meetings, weekly toolboxes, and look-ahead meetings with the construction team.
- Allocate tasks to the work crew and monitor outputs against the program.
- Facilitate weekly safety walks and conduct regular observations and inspections throughout the week.
- Encourage and maintain a “Safety-First” mindset amongst the crew through coaching and mentoring to minimise the occurrence of incidents and maximise reporting.
- Ensure that records, reports, invoices, and timesheets are submitted in a timely manner.
- Be proactive and provide innovative ideas and solutions to potential issues and to improve current systems, practices, and procedures.
Required Skills and Competencies
- 5+ years' experience working in a Supervisory role on large civil infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience delivering civil packages including detailed earthworks, drainage, services, and utilities as well as pavements and landscaping.
- Experience working on metropolitan MRWA projects would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work independently to organise and prioritise current programs and scheduled works.
- Proven communicator who can lead, train and influence positively those around them.
