Churches of Christ is committed to Christ-inspired care for vulnerable people. • Established Legacy: Be part of the Children, Youth and Families group, providing services across Queensland for over 50 years. Our first fostering program began in 1988, and we currently provide services and support across Queensland from Cape York to the Gold Coast.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide case management and tailored support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families.
  • Build strong community partnerships with agencies, carers, and families to create sustainable support networks.
  • Deliver culturally inclusive programs that promote healing, resilience, and well-being.

About You:

  • You are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991).
  • You have a degree qualification in social work, psychology, social science or a related discipline (or equivalent level of expertise with more than 4 years’ experience attained through previous appointments, service, and/or study, with a minimum Certificate III in Community Services, as approved by the State Manager or Operations Manager).
  • You have applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks, including knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, the Child Protection Act 1999.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to complete assessments for care and a deep understanding of the contemporary challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • You have experience in child protection, community services, or supporting vulnerable children and families.
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with diverse communities.

What You’ll Need:

  • Current driver’s licence – P2 minimum
  • Current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to acquire.

About Us

We are one of Australia’s largest and most diverse not-for-profit organisations, with a legacy of care and compassion spanning over 140 years. Through our faith-based mission, the church and organisation work together to provide holistic support across family services, community housing, retirement living, home care, and residential aged care.
