We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide specialized care to a gentleman with Usher Syndrome. This role will involve assisting with daily activities and providing crucial support for someone who is both deaf and blind, requiring Tactile Deafblind interpreting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks.
- Provide Tactile Deafblind interpreting to ensure effective communication.
- Support the client with social and community activities, promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Ensure safety and comfort while promoting dignity and respect.
- Assist with specialized care routines as required by the client’s condition.
Requirements:
- Experience or understanding of working with individuals who are deaf and blind, particularly with Usher Syndrome.
- Skilled in Tactile Deafblind interpreting or willingness to learn.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to the client’s specific needs.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
