About the role
The role of Supporter Relations Officer is dynamic and no two days will look the same. You will act as the primary contact for AWC’s donors by managing supporter-related correspondence, via phone, email and online. You will process donations and issue receipts, and be responsible for financial reports regarding them. In addition to this, you will maintain the specific customer relationship manager (CRM) software, and assist with any other administrative tasks as they arise. This role will suit anyone looking to make their start into the fundraising space, or individuals with an administrative, customer service or database background.
The Supporter Relations Officer reports directly to the Philanthropy Operations Manager, and will liaise closely with and assist other staff on the Philanthropy team, in particular:
- Senior Supporter Relations Officer who will train the Supporter Relations Officer in the operation of their duties.
- Database and Systems Officer.
- A team of Philanthropy Managers, including the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
Critical competencies:
- Demonstrated experience working with a CRM database in a fundraising or sales/marketing environment including capturing, processing and recording of constituent information. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce is desirable.
- Understanding, (or an ability to rapidly acquire an understanding), of basic fundraising principles and practices and the role data plays in driving strategy, campaigns and programs.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to:
- Professionally answer telephone inquiries from AWC supporters and staff.
- Establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A strong work ethic and a demonstrated ‘can do’ attitude. A team player who is willing to jump in and help fellow team members whenever the need arises.
- Excellent organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to prioritise and execute many tasks in an efficient manner.
- Ability to act effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
Qualifications:
- National Police Clearance certificate.
