Molong Central School has an enrolment of 399 students from K-12, with 24.3% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Students come from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds, making equity a priority for the school community.
The school offers a broad curriculum, and its unique K-12 environment allows staff and students to share opportunities across both the Primary and Secondary sections. The school's results reflect consistency across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs), with a strong emphasis on personal achievement. Molong Central School is well-renowned for offering a diverse academic pattern of study in the senior years.
Extra-curricular opportunities in sport, debating, and the arts are embraced as valuable experiences for students in a small rural community. The proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is increasing, and the school is committed to improving the delivery of education for these students while ensuring all students have meaningful exposure to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all KLAs.
The school currently employs 48 teachers and 30 administration and support staff, including additional temporary staff funded through school-based initiatives to better support student learning.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Mathematics (7-10) and Mathematics (11-12).
- Demonstrated capacity to work as part of the maths faculty and wider school team to develop and maintain a quality teaching and learning program that focusses on catering to the needs of individual students.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents to improve student numeracy outcomes for a diverse range of learners.
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and to plan and implement differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
