About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The Team Leader, Intelligence is accountable to the Director, Intelligence and Risk for operational leadership and supervisory management of the Department's intelligence function and providing operational leadership to manage and develop the intelligence team to meet the Department's intelligence requirements and priorities. The incumbent is responsible for consulting and liaising with prison, community corrections and corporate senior management, and for maintaining external corporate relationships to support the Department's intelligence function.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
• The incumbent is required to maintain a national security clearance as administered by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency at the level required for the duties of the position being no lower than Negative Vetting 1 (NV1).
• The Team Leader, Intelligence is a designated position pursuant to Policy 65- Designated Positions.
• The incumbent is an authorised officer for opening and examining prisoner mail for the purposes of section 33 of the Correctional Services Act 1982.
