Role description
Technical Delivery Manager will be required to work with various stakeholders to gather, understand and validate project requirements to support successful project delivery and ensure that they are clearly understood by the project and technical delivery team, including Solution Architects, Technical Delivery Managers and Service Owners. They will retain the responsibility to analyse and document system functional and non-functional requirements and additionally translate technical requirements into project delivery requirements.
The role will work with various stakeholders to analyse and synthesize information, understand organisational objectives, coordinate and complete business analysis activities. This includes eliciting, documenting and managing stakeholder business requirements throughout the delivery and project lifecycle as well as providing overall support to the Program/Portfolio Managers and the project delivery team. Initially this position will be aligned to the Argon and Isotope programs which are critical global programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for successful delivery of key strategic global programs/projects within required timeframes in alignment with business outcomes.
- Plan, control and manage the delivery of business and technology project/s, or IT components of project/s, over the full project delivery lifecycle (design, build, test, deployment, and operational handover).
- Aligns project schedules with enterprise-level timelines, managing dependencies across portfolios and facilitate optimal sequencing to ensure successful delivery.
- Defines decision-making processes, influences strategic decisions across multiple projects or portfolios, and drives outcomes.
- Manage the delivery team’s internal and external resources making the best and most efficient use of their skills OR advises on resource management best practices, resolves conflicts, optimizes allocation, and trains team members OR Leads resource management strategies, optimizes allocation, and aligns long-term plans with organizational goals.
- Evaluates aggregated risks across multiple projects, considering broader organizational implications and advises on mitigation strategies and approves significant risk responses to ensure they are robust and aligned with business objectives.
- Apply appropriate project governance in alignment with ePMO frameworks and expectations.
- Manage quality and timeliness of deliverables and associated acceptance processes.
- Influence stakeholders and project related communications and engagement activities.
- Establishes advanced performance systems and provides high-level reports to executives. OR Establishes mechanisms for monitoring performance and delivers advanced reports with strategic insights.
- Ensure delivery of post-implementation reviews and health checks of projects, making recommendations and identifying lessons learned.
- Develops strategies and leads stakeholder engagement, management, and change initiatives to ensure organizational alignment.
- Embeds frameworks into the organizational strategy, driving efficiency and alignment across portfolios.
- Develop and/or assist in the preparation of business cases and other project documents.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline. A masters in the same would be well regarded.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully contributing to the delivery of complex, large scale IT projects (10+ years' experience).
- Proven direct experience in either Agile and Waterfall project methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Experience working with 3rd party IT providers and/or system integrators
- Planning and conducting workshops to translate business requirements in to a 'fit for purpose' solution.
- Understanding of business case development and benefits realization.
- Demonstrated experience in business process re-engineering and business requirements analysis.
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 / PMBoK project management methodology or equivalent.
- Financial understanding including Capex / Opex knowledge, business case development and benefits realization.
- Experience with techniques such as use case analysis, data/process flow diagramming, process mapping and detailed business and functional requirements documentation.
- Working in an offshore environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
- PMP / PMI / PRINCE2 /PMBOK or equivalent certification desirable.
- IIBA Certification CBAP or comparable experience desirable.
