About Us:
The Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 commits to the ambitious target of eliminating death from our roads by 2050, with the first step of halving road deaths by 2030. It also seeks to reduce the incidence of serious injury resulting from road crashes.
The Road Safety manages Victoria's road safety camera network and is a representative for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) in Victoria's road safety partnership. Road Safety contributes to this partnership in the operation of road safety cameras, and the policy and strategic directions of the broader road safety enforcement. Road Safety is accountable to the Minister for Police and the Office of the Road Safety Camera Commissioner.
About the Role:
The Technical Lead, reporting directly to the Manager, Compliance, and Sites, is responsible for researching and developing road safety camera-based enforcement technologies. They oversee the assessment, testing, and implementation of these technologies. The role also involves collaborating with Quality Assurance to develop performance monitoring, auditing, and compliance frameworks for systems and record processing.
You will also be required to keep abreast of trends and developments in the field (both technology and standards), evaluate the potential application for current and future needs within the Victorian State Government context and make authoritative recommendations to senior management.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be proficient in research and development, specifications, information and communications technology, software analysis, data analytics, and implementing industry standards and policies.
- Have a working knowledge of quality assurance principles and practice as applies within a quality-assured working environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to proactively build and maintain positive relationships and networks with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification would be desirable in the field of engineering, information technology or other equivalent work experience.
