Join Bunge’s team based in the Ardrossan area as an operator and play a vital role in our supply chain.

About the Role

We’re seeking skilled and safety-conscious operators to join our team at Bunge’s Ardrossan terminal. We have a mix of positions available across the group. In these positions, you’ll be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of various machinery and equipment essential to our grain storage and logistics processes.

These roles are ideal for individuals who take pride in precision, enjoy practical outdoor work, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment. You’ll get involved in everything from operating machinery to maintaining high grain quality and contributing to export operations. You’ll work closely with site staff and play a key role in grain movement, storage, and export readiness.

At Bunge, we support ongoing development and the more skills and qualifications you bring or build, the greater your earning potential through our Skill-Based Career Path.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment: Safely and efficiently operate a range of machinery, including forklifts, front end loaders, and other essential equipment to load and unload trucks.
  • Ensure grain quality: Monitor and maintain grain quality standards through classification and quality control procedures.
  • Support export operations: Assist with bulk grain outturning, including shipping loading, container packing, and coordinating road transport.
  • Maintain storage facilities: Keep grain storage areas clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Lead and support teams: Provide guidance and assistance to seasonal staff during busy periods, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor infrastructure: Oversee the condition of bunkers, silos, tarps, and other storage assets to ensure ongoing operational efficiency.
  • General maintenance: Carry out routine equipment upkeep, pest management, and hygiene tasks to support smooth terminal operations.

About You

  • Team Player: You thrive working collaboratively and enjoy tackling new challenges together.
  • Strong Communicator: You have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, able to clearly and effectively communicate with your team and stakeholders.
  • Leadership Potential: You demonstrate leadership qualities and have experience motivating and supporting others to achieve team goals.
  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience in grain handling or a similar operational role is preferred but not essential—we value your willingness to learn and grow.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commodity classification is a bonus but not required.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence: A current driver’s licence is essential for this role.
  • Safety Champion: You are committed to maintaining a safe workplace, consistently following safety procedures, and encouraging others to do the same.
