This position is a fixed term contract for 12 months and this will be based within the Essential Energy footprint .
About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Test Manager to join out Digital Services Division reporting into the Manager Solutions Design and Engineering.
As a Test Manager at Essential Energy, you will oversee all testing activities within the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for a large platform delivery program to ensure software, hardware, and data releases are fit for purpose and associated risks are minimized. You will plan, coordinate, and manage the testing process, ensuring thorough and methodical testing against documented system specifications. Additionally, you will manage and mentor a team of Test Leads and Test Analysts, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment to achieve high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and own test strategies, plans, and reports.
- Ensure testing is executed according to overarching strategies and guidelines.
- Manage program testing performance to meet timeframe, scope, quality, and budget expectations.
- Plan and coordinate all phases of testing within program frameworks and timelines.
- Identify, classify, and track defects during testing and post-implementation support.
- Conduct quality assurance analysis and provide status reports to stakeholders.
- Engage with technical design, Program and Project Managers, and manage stakeholder expectations.
About You
You are an experienced Test Manager with a strong background in software quality assurance and testing. You have extensive experience managing diverse testing teams in a large program delivery environment and are skilled in Agile methodologies. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to effectively engage with stakeholders and manage project testing requirements. You are detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in using tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM for test case management and defect tracking.
In addition to this you will have:
- Test Management, ITIL, SDLC, or Agile certifications (desirable).
- Extensive experience in a similar Test Management role.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM.
- Knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM).
- Experience with AEMO’s NEM Reform initiatives.
- Proficient in meter-to-cash operations for electricity distributor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.Why Essential Energy
