Want your chance to make a mark on a world-class, record-breaking event? We are hiring for a Tournament Services Lead – Transport to join our Tournament Services team to deliver the Australian Open 2026. This is a full-time fixed-term contract from August 2025 to February 2026.

About the role
The Tournament Services Lead – Transport is responsible for coordinating and managing the Australian Open’s entire transport operations for players as well as AO’s corporate partners and sponsors.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the development and delivery of all Australian Open transport operations, including oversight of all Transport Operations staff.
- Drive recruitment, induction, training and performance for the Transport Operations team.
- Managing the day-to-day operations during the event, resolving issues in real time and ensuring all transport services run smoothly across venues.
- Overseeing budgets, systems and tools, including workforce planning, transport apps, training materials and the Transport Operations Manual.
- Collaborating with internal teams (Event Ops, Commercial) and external stakeholders (Melbourne Airport, Transport Companies) to deliver a seamless service before, during and after the event.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Proven project management skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- High-level understanding of transport requirements at major events is preferred; however, we welcome candidates with broader major event operations experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build rapport with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Technically proficient, with strong computer skills across databases, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems.
- Preparedness to be flexible in regards to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
