Job Purpose:
The Traffic Management Implementer (TMI) is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic management schemes on roads and construction sites. This role ensures compliance with traffic management plans, road safety regulations, and industry standards to protect both road users and work crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement temporary traffic control setups in accordance with approved Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) and permits.
- Install, maintain, and remove signage, barriers, cones, bollards, and other traffic control devices.
- Monitor and adjust traffic flow to ensure public safety and minimal disruption.
- Assist in site setup and pack-down in accordance with the project schedule.
- Conduct on-site risk assessments and report hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate with the public in a professional manner.
- Ensure all activities are performed safely and in accordance with local laws, codes of practice, and company policies.
- Complete documentation including pre-start checks, site diaries, and incident reports as required.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Valid Traffic Management Implementer accreditation (e.g., TMI Ticket, Level 1 or 2 as per local jurisdiction)
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Valid Driver’s License (Manual preferred)
Experience:
- Previous experience in traffic control or civil construction preferred
- Familiarity with relevant road authority standards and guidelines
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong understanding of road safety and traffic control principles
- Ability to read and interpret Traffic Control Plans (TCPs)
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive with a safety-first mindset
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $36.26 – $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
