Trainee Tamper Operator | Pleystowe Mill
About the Position
Based at Pleystowe Mill and reporting directly to the Cane Railway Supervisor (Central Plant & Resurfacing), you will be learning on-the-job to operate and maintain tamper machine/s and other machinery in order to maintain the railway track to set standards and specifications.
You will be a key member of the track resurfacing team achieving targets in relation to safety, quality and productivity and have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with team members.
As a minimum you will hold and maintain the following:
- Queensland Open Drivers Licence (Manual) and a General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Locomotive Driver Competency and relevant Company ATO’s

Training for this role will begin on the tamping machines and will progress across all resurfacing machines (Regulator, Run and Load Ballast, Non-Computerised and Computerised Tampers).
